Tao Chan Wing Chun Augsburg

Wing Chun Augsburg

The Tao Chan Wing Chun school in Augsburg teaches the original Wing Chun system, directly from the line of Grand Master Ip Man, which he passed on to his son, Grand Master Prof. Dr. Ip Chun, reunited with the Shaolin Chan lineage through Abbot Chi Sim, for the first time worldwide since the fall of the South Shaolin Monastery over 350 years ago.

A traditional system that originated in southern Shaolin, through which philosophies, methods and values are conveyed in the Tao Chan Wing Chun Augsburg school in order to further develop our character in life, among other things. More self-confidence, more conscious control over your own body and thoughts, mindfulness, improved concentration, health / vitality and the ability to defend yourself in emergency situations are only a very small part of what can be achieved.

Tao Chan Wing Chun Augsburg is taught without any secrecy, in a harmonizing and friendly atmosphere, like in old traditional China, taking modern teaching methods into account in successive steps.

The Tao Chan Wing Chun system is taught in the Tao Chan Wing Chun Augsburg school by Si-Hing Günbay Sali, 1st Duan / Dan teacher degree and Sifu candidate, who has been a student of Grandmaster Chi Sim for many years.

Wing Chun Augsburg

The official Sifu of the Tao Chan Wing Chun Augsburg school, to which the students are also assigned, is Abbot Chi Sim, 10th Dan / Duan Grand Master degree, ordained Buddhist monk of the 54th generation of the founder of the Shaolin monastery and the Chan patriarch - Bodhidharma. Named after the last abbot of South Shaolin, founder of many South Shaolin styles and teacher of the nun Ng Mui, founder of Wing Chun.

Abbot Chi Sim is in the line of traditional Wing Chun, the only Wing Chun master from the line of the oldest and only living son of Grand Master Ip Man, Prof. Dr. Ip Chun in Germany with a sifu title and teaching license, who teaches the original Wing Chun in a traditional way.

The lessons include the teachings of Grand Master Ip Man, knowledgeable training via a module-based introduction. These include, among other things, the well-known Chinese medicine in the advanced area, similar to that of the famous herbalist Grand Master Dr. Leung Jan, the Kung Fu grandfather of Grand Master Ip Man, as well as the philosophies of Chan Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism and meditation, which have largely been lost in today's Wing Chun systems since the destruction of the South Shaolin Temple and therefore hardly to very much there little consideration. Classes at the Wing Chun Augsburg school are suitable for young people aged 13 and over and adults with no age limit.

How do you find the right Wing Chun in Augsburg?

There are certainly some offers in the area of "Wing Chun Augsburg" that you can come across. Finding the right school is often easier than finding a suitable student, as for a master, and at first you don't know exactly whether what you are being taught will also be taught in other schools of other Wing Chun lineages.

Are you actually being taught as is customary in Chinese culture, or are “secrets” deliberately not being shown? Why do you see different styles and techniques of Wing Chun in every school or on the internet?

Very few Wing Chun teachers in Germany learned directly in Hong Kong.
Most of those who learned in China were only able to “acquire” a short training during vacation periods for a short time and cannot speak the language, where essential definitions and principles are usually lost even with a translator.

What you need is a teacher who has actually learned and lived directly in Hong Kong for a very long time, speaks the language and knows the culture, as well as an instructor who teaches as at the Tao Chan Wing Chun Augsburg school.

Through Si-Hing Günbay - who was taught by his grandmaster, Abbot Chi Sim, the oldest German student of grandmaster Prof. Dr. Ip Chun with teaching license for more than 25 years directly from Hong Kong and a real Chan monk, learned from Shaolin and is now also actively teaching in the Tao Chan Wing Chun school in Augsburg - this is possible!

You can read more detailed information about the responsible Sifu of the Tao Chan Wing Chun Augsburg school, Grand Master Abbot Chi Sim, on the association's webpage www.wingchun-ipman.de.

A well-known saying that also applies to the school of Tao Chan Wing Chun Augsburg, as well as in Zen, is:

"Before you can fill a cup, you have to empty it!"
